Agent reveals when striker will join Arsenal as player sign agreement with club to allow to him leave at anytime

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is expected to leave the Italian champions in January following a social media incident that took place a few months ago between the player and the club. However, the 24-year-old has signed a new contract, silencing any rumors of his departure in January.

Osimhen’s latest contract guarantees his stay at Napoli until 2026 and includes a €130 million clause, as the club values him as an asset.

The 24-year-old Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli’s Scudetto victory last season, scoring an impressive 26 goals and winning the Italian Player of the Year award. Furthermore, his fantastic performances earned him the 2023 African Player of the Year award, beating strong competitors such as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi.

As for Osimhen’s future, his agent Calenda expressed his satisfaction with the player’s current situation at Napoli, saying that his client is determined to help Napoli win more trophies this season.

Calenda told Corriere dello Sport via Football Italia: “Victor is doing very well in Naples and wants to take the team as high as possible. This is what he has always said and supported on the pitch. We have just concluded a historic deal in the history of Italian football. Let’s enjoy it.”

Despite tempting offers from top clubs, the agent reiterated Osimhen’s desire to stay in Naples and stressed their proactive approach to securing an extension.

“I represent Victor and I want the best for him. We have both wanted an extension since last summer. Last summer there were many offers, some monstrous, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor and we made ourselves available. If we had wanted to leave, we would have said so. Instead, we made a lot of effort to get the extension through. Next summer will be the same,” Calenda confirmed.

Although Victor Osimhen has struggled with injuries this season, which has limited his appearances, his impact is still clear as he has scored seven goals and two assists in 11 Serie A games for Napoli.
