Arsenal lead race for €60m star, club accept he could leave in January transfer window
Arsenal are thought to be in the best position for a possible transfer of Goncalo Inacio, the Sporting Lisbon center back.
The talented 22-year-old is an exciting talent with a great future in the game, so it makes sense that the Gunners are one of a number of big names currently being linked with him.
A report from A Bola also mentions Liverpool’s interest, but says that Arsenal are currently leading the race for the Portuguese international, who has a €60 million release clause.
According to the report, it seems that Arsenal could complete this deal in January, as Sporting seem to have come to terms with the fact that they could lose their most important defender in the next window.
This will certainly be interesting, although some Arsenal fans will question the transfer strategy, as Mikel Arteta already has William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White and James Kiwior as center backs, and can be replaced by Takehiro Tomiyasu if necessary.
In midfield, Arsenal’s midfield is a bit weaker due to Thomas Partey’s frequent injury problems, and some fans would like to see the arrival of a new attacking midfielder, as Gabriel Jesus doesn’t look like a player who scores more than 20 goals per season, while Gabriel Martinelli’s form has also dropped a bit since last season.
