Many pundits, including Gary Neville, have urged Arsenal to sign a new striker next month if they want to go all the way in the Premier League title race.
Toney is widely regarded as the first choice and Agbonlahor has now urged the Gunners to sell Emil Smith Rowe and use the money to fund the transfer of the 27-year-old Brentford striker.
He told talkSPORT: “I think Arsenal need a goal-scoring striker for Christmas. Some Arsenal fans say: ‘Oh, this is boring, we have [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Bukaya] Sako, [Leandro] Trossard, [Eddie] Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus sharing the goals.
“But what could they do? What could we get with another striker? What could we do with Ivan Tone in this team? How many goals would Arsenal score with Ivan Toney? In these tight games that they are winning, what could you do for this team with Toney in the team?
“Can he sell [Emile] Smith Rowe? The college graduate has his own song, but he’s not going to come to this team, let’s be honest. Smith Rowe is good money. Sell Smith Rowe and give the money to Ivan Toni.
“Go out and buy him because if you don’t, Chelsea or Spurs will get him and you will regret it.”

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker in the January window as they look to ensure he crosses the line in the title race this time around.
The Canaries drew 1-1 with Liverpool last time out and are sure to emerge victorious from the Christmas shopping season. But with the title race so close, it looks like they may need more firepower.
Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs associated with Ivan Toney. But Brentford hope to keep their star player, who could cost up to £100 million.
Another name the Gunners are said to have settled on is Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez. However, it now seems that his arrival will also cost a lot of money.

Feyenoord star Gimenez is highly sought after in England, according to a report in The Guardian this weekend.
The striker is said to be on the radar of Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea in January.
But while some may have thought that a move to an Eredivisie club would be much cheaper, it is now claimed that he will cost around £60 million.
Gimenez has been red hot for the Dutch side this season, scoring 31 goals in the 2023 league season alone.
He is hailed as a “fantastic” talent at Feyenoord, so it’s not hard to see why Arsenal like him. But at that price and with his inexperience in England, it’s a risky move.
Arsenal may need to take a risk
Arsenal undoubtedly need a new striker. Gabriel Jesus continues to play well, but he doesn’t score goals. Moreover, Eddie Nketiah is getting worse and worse and some experts doubt that he is the right man for the job.
Gimenez is really impressing in the Netherlands. If Ivan Toney is not on the market, then it would be worth offering him to the Gunners.
They need to sign someone in January. They are too close to success not to add something else at the top.
So Gimenez will be an expensive deal that will pay off enough for them to get over the line.
Benjamin Sesko is ready to move to the Premier League in January, several clubs are interested in him
RB Leipzig’s 20-year-old striker Benjamin Sesko is interested in a move to the Premier League in January.
Sesko is being monitored by a number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United.
90min reported that the senior striker wants to join the Premier League after playing second fiddle to Lois Openda.
Sesko started just three Bundesliga games out of a possible 16 after joining RB Leipzig from sister club RB Salzburg. Most of his appearances for the club came from the bench.
Of Leipzig’s six Champions League games this season, Sesko has only had the opportunity to play in two.
The Slovenian striker has only one wish on his agenda: more playing time. He wants to lead his country’s front line in the upcoming Euro 2024.
According to 90min, the German club is willing to release Sesek on loan with an obligation to buy him back. Many scouts believe that the striker’s playing style is well suited to the Premier League.
Leipzig would prefer to keep the striker as they want to compete for the Bundesliga title alongside Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
Perhaps some of the top Premier League clubs will also choose the striker soon.
Manchester United have struggled to score goals this season and expensive signing Rasmus Hojlund has not delivered. Hojlund has yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah available in attack, but both have failed to become productive options for the Gunners attack.
If the move goes through, Leipzig will double the £20 million they paid for Cesc last summer.
