16-goal striker is ready to join Arsenal before the January transfer deadline if they fail to sign Toney

Arsenal plan to sign Porto striker Evanilson if they fail to agree a deal for Ivan Toney this month or next.

The Gunners intend to sign a striker both this month and in the summer if necessary, and Ivan Toney has been at the forefront of the links for much of this window.

However, with Brentford asking for around £100 million and Arsenal struggling with FFP, it is more likely that the Gunners will make the move this summer.

While Toney remains a target, Arsenal are now looking at Porto’s Evanilson if they fail to seal a deal for the Englishman.

Arsenal considering signing Evanilson

According to Football Transfers, Brazilian star Evanilson is now on Arsenal’s radar as they look for alternative attacking options.

The Porto star has scored 16 goals this season and impressed again in continental Europe, so there is a good chance he will be the next player from that region to move to the Premier League.

A deal for Arsenal will likely mean they will meet the striker’s buyout clause, which according to the same report currently stands at around £64 million.

Arsenal are also keeping an eye on Dominic Solanke in their search for new attacking talent.

But with a January deal unlikely, players like Evanilson are now firmly on the radar for the summer.

Arsenal have an important decision to make
Whoever becomes Arsenal’s next number 9 will have some pressure on his shoulders given that the fans want him.

Evanilson is obviously a great talent, but for £64 million he is also a bit of a gamble as he doesn’t have enough experience at this level.

However, Arsenal will have to make these decisions in future windows.

Evanilson could prove to be one of the more realistic options for the club, plus £64 million is cheaper than what Brentford want for Toney.
