Arsenal is one of the clubs he is considering as he flirts with a possible summer move from the Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has told Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
The German club are ready to sell the 29-year-old this summer if they receive a suitable offer, as they have yet to discuss an extension to his contract, which expires in 2025.
Kimmich does not want to go to Manchester United, Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain, but he is open to a move to the north London club, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona also in the picture.
Some of them have already contacted the versatile player, who is open to talks.
Arsenal will strengthen their squad for next season and the German international’s outstanding quality and experience makes him the right man for the job.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola once praised his focus, skill in the air and personality on the ball when they were together at the Allianz Arena, saying he “has absolutely everything” and the Gunners would love to have a player like him in their ranks.
He scored two goals and seven assists in 30 games in all competitions for Bayern, playing as a defensive midfielder and right-back.
Kimmich’s strengths are crosses, passes, key passes and breaks, holding the ball, taking the first touch, taking long shots and fighting, so the Gunners should try to sign him this summer when he will be available for sale.
The German has scored 41 goals and 102 assists in 378 games for Bayern and has proved his quality over the years, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cup titles, six German Super Cup titles and one Champions League title.
If Kimmich leaves his childhood club this summer, he would want to continue winning trophies at his next club, and he is convinced that Arsenal is one of the clubs that can win major silverware on a consistent basis.
