Manchester City star Kyle Walker has now been complimenting an Arsenal player ahead of next weekend’s huge encounter.
Right now, Mikel Arteta will simply be praying that all of his Arsenal players avoid injury during their international fixtures.
Not only will Arsenal travel to the Etihad next Sunday, but they then also have a crucial tie with Bayern Munich to contend with.
The ‘business end’ of the season is well and truly arriving, and Arsenal can’t afford to lose any of their key men.
That being said, both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Magalhaes did, of course, withdraw from international duty recently.
Thankfully it seems as if neither player is a real doubt for Arsenal’s trip to face Man City, making Kyle Walker’s recent comments particularly pertinent.
Ahead of facing Saka next weekend, Walker has been complimenting his England teammate on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE podcast.
Walker, who has been playing alongside Saka for England for some time now, said the Arsenal man had achieved a remarkable amount for a player of his age.
Speaking on the podcast, Walker said that Phil Foden was the best young player he’s played alongside, but said Saka had been brilliant too.
Walker admitted: “But I think B’s incredible. I think B is very good as well. As a direct winger, he’s very, very, very good.
“And I think, for what he’s done for England, at such a young age, his stats are very good for England.”
Of course, Walker will probably be quite grateful that he won’t have to face Saka down the right-hand side against Arsenal on Sunday.
It should be either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard occupying the right-back, trying to inspire a win that would be monumental for Arsenal’s title chances.
Fans will be watching the remaining internationals with bated breath, praying all return in good condition and ready for that seismic fixture which wasn’t forgiving last season.
All that being said, one former Arsenal player has admitted he can barely watch the club’s games anymore.
