Arsenal reportedly submitted bid to sign £45m star as Arteta aims to seal first summer ‘Done Deal’ this weekend
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is favouring a summer move to Arsenal, amidst interest from top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and several Italian teams.
According to The Mirror, the £45m-rated forward is leaning towards the Emirates, marking a significant boost for the Gunners, who appear to be leading the race for the Slovenia international.
This development aligns with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s strategy of acquiring a young striker to partner with Kai Havertz, who impressed last season. Sesko, who turns 21 on Friday, fits this profile perfectly. His agent, Elvis Basanovic, has attended several Arsenal matches this season, further indicating a strong interest in the club.
Despite only joining RB Leipzig a year ago, Sesko has been part of the Red Bull football network since 2019, initially playing for Red Bull Salzburg. Leipzig is open to selling the forward this summer if a suitable deal is reached.

Sesko is currently part of Slovenia’s squad for the Euros, where they will face England in the group stages. Standing at 6ft 5in, Sesko boasts a commendable goal record, making him a desirable target for Arsenal, who have been scouting him extensively throughout the season.
In addition to Sesko, Arsenal have considered other options, including Ajax’s Brian Brobbey and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. However, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak are no longer on their radar.
Arsenal are not expected to make a marquee signing this summer but are focused on securing an emerging No. 9 and a winger. They may also pursue a midfielder if Thomas Partey leaves. While the club has funds to spend, they anticipate several departures.
Potential exits include Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, and Emile Smith Rowe, with Bayern Munich closely monitoring Oleksandr Zinchenko’s situation.
