Arsenal €60m midfield target confirms agreement in place to make summer move next week!
Arsenal-linked Youssof Fofana has revealed he has an agreement in place with Monaco to allow him to leave should they be approached for his services.
The Gunners had an amazing season last year – but now will start getting to work and trying to sign players that will take the club to another level and really take that Premier League title away from Man City.
After an impressive season in France – Fofana is a player that ARSENAL are very much interested in signing as Mikel Arteta wants to add some more depth to that world class midfield that he has.
He told Get French Football News: “My future? I have spoken about it with the hierarchy, it isn’t a secret.
“We had exchanges and they agreed to accompany me in this new stage.
“If it (a move) doesn’t happen, I still have a year left and I will be happy to stay.
“We were in agreement that we would accompany each other in this process in which everyone should be a winner, be it me or the club.”
Reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano recently said those close to the midfielder expect him to leave, and he could be one of the surprises of the window.
“An important player to watch in the summer transfer window is also Youssouf Fofana, the French national team midfielder for Monaco,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.
“He was on the list for Manchester United and Inter last summer, end of August, but Monaco said no to all of the approaches.
“He’s out of contract in 2025, same as Alphonso Davies, but with a difference. Youssouf Fofana is not even negotiating a new contract with Monaco and the expectation of those close to the player, and the expectation of Monaco is for Youssouf Fofana to leave the club this summer. So Youssouf Fofana can really leave the club.
“What’s going to happen? There is interest from Italy, there is interest from England, there is interest from Germany, so several clubs are keeping an eye on Fofana. There is movement on him, keep an eye on this player, it could be one of the surprises of the summer transfer window.”
