Arsenal picked up where they left off last season with a convincing win over Wolves in their Premier League opener.
The Gunners looked in control throughout as they picked up three points to begin their title challenge.
It has been a relatively quiet transfer window for Arsenal so far, with the only two arrivals being David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori.
But with Raya spending last season on loan at The Emirates, Mikel Arteta fielded a very familiar side against Wolves with Calafiori remaining on the bench.
Arsenal have attempted to bring in more signings this summer but they failed in their move to sign top-choice midfield target Martin Zubimendi.
They have also been linked with a number of strikers with question marks still hovering over Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

Arteta put his trust in Havertz to lead the line and the German rewarded his manager’s faith by scoring the opener after just 25 minutes.
Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard were brought on from the bench to add to Arsenal’s firepower in the second half, and Arteta’s comments suggest he is happy with his three striker options already at the club.
After the full-time whistle, Arteta said “I have faith in [Havertz], we have faith in [Gabriel Jesus].
“Leandro [Trossard] has played in that position. So we have different qualities in there and the best thing we can do is trust the players that we have and try to improve them.
“They are so good and so willing and that’s what we focus on.”
Are Arsenal making a mistake?
There is a growing feeling that this could be Arsenal’s year. They have come so close in successive years to winning the title and Manchester City have been weakened by the sale of Julian Alvarez.
The concerns at left-back have been addressed by signing Calafiori and Arsenal now have world-class options in almost every position.
The striker department now looks like Arsenal’s weakest link. Havertz and Jesus cannot guarantee 20 goals a season and their lack of consistency in front of goal could prove extremely costly in a title race.
Arteta’s comments suggest Arsenal will not go out and splash the cash on a big-name striker. Only time will tell whether that is a mistake or a stroke of genius.
