💥 🚨 Report Just in: Newcastle just completed the signing of top player

Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of exciting Spanish talent Antonio Cordero, who will officially join the Magpies on July 1 when his Malaga contract comes to an end.

The teenage talent, 18, has racked up 60 appearances for the Andalusian side despite his relative inexperience, helping guide Malaga to Spanish Segunda safety this season following their promotion last term. Cordero chipped in with six goals and seven assists in the league last season alone.

The youngster’s arrival is subject to completion of the Premier League’s registration process and the player obtaining a UK visa – but speaking out on Thursday, Cordero expressed his happiness at making such an ambitious move. “It’s truly an honour to be here, truly a pleasure,” he said.

Antonio is an exciting talent. We’re delighted to bring him to Newcastle United amidst interest in Spain and across Europe,” the outgoing club chief said. “He has lots of potential, and the next phase of his development will be for the club to select a loan move that will challenge him and build on his experiences.”

Dutch side Ajax have already been tipped as the favourites to take Cordero on loan next season. His arrival means he will join the likes of Vakhtang Salia and Baran Yildiz in choosing to join Newcastle from their homelands at such a young age in recent months.
