- Newcastle United’s lack of a breakthrough this summer has got a number of fans concerned that the club are failing to build on the excellent season they had.

There is still a long way to go with another 11 weeks until the trading period closes for good on September 1 and it has also been noted that the Magpies didn’t strike first in 2023 until July 3, with the signing of Sandro Tonali. The year before that, their first senior signing was Nick Pope on June 23.
