Coventry City boss Frank Lampard sent warning ahead of new season
Coventry City boss Frank Lampard has been warned that the expectations will be higher at the club next season after the success on the field in the last campaign.
The play-off defeat to Sunderland saw the Sky Blues go heartbreakingly close to a return to the Premier League, only to stumble in the closing stages of the season.
Now, with Lampard clearly steering the ship in the right direction, he has been told he must continue the club’s upward trajectory.
Former Sky Blues defender Colin Hendry has a few words of advice for Lampard, in a recent interview, he stated: “The Championship is the most difficult league in the world.
“There are so many massive teams competing in it, trying to fight their way out, and that is exactly what it’s like in that league: a fight. 46 gruelling games.
“The problem that Frank has is that the expectations at Coventry are high now. The fans want to see the club take the next step, because Mark Robbins before him, he didn’t really put a foot wrong in my opinion.
