According to KNTFootball, top Korea journalist Seo Ho-jung is reporting that Newcastle United look set to sign Park Seung-Soo.
The 18-year-old is a six-foot forward who currently plays for Suwon Bluewings in the K-League 2 and his proposed signing could be nicely timed as the club prepare a pre-season trip around East Asia this summer.
After facing Arsenal in Singapore on 27th July, Newcastle will face a K-League All Stars side in South Korea on 30th July at the Suwon World Cup Stadium, before taking on Tottenham in Seoul on Sunday 3rd August.
KNTFootball state that ‘he’ll sign now and join later in K-League 2 season’, suggesting an announcement could arrive ahead of our trip to South Korea in just over a month’s time.
Park can play down either flank or up top and is a South Korea Under-20 international, scoring once in five caps for his country.
