Ipswich Town: How Town and Norwich City are shaping up this summer
The East Anglian derby will return next season. Mark Heath and Connor Southwell, chief Norwich City writer at the Eastern Daily Press, take a look at how the two sides are shaping up this summer…
Town: Having waited 22 years to get back into the Premier League, Town surged into the top tier on a wave of emotion and momentum.
Sadly, that was quickly halted by the cruel reality of life in the world’s best league, where injuries hit hard and the incredible athleticism and skill of the opposition was a step too far, too soon.
Being relegated at the first time of asking was deflating and sobering of course, but there remains a good vibe around the club.
They return to the second tier in a much better place than when they left it, bolstered by parachute payments, a strong squad and real feeling of unity between the touchline and terraces.
Fans are relishing the challenge of being a big fish in a much smaller pond this time around.
