Leeds United eye move for 6ft 8in goalkeeper to replace Illan Meslier

Over a month into the summer transfer window and Illan Meslier remains a Leeds United player. After the events of last season, many expected him to be gone by now.

The Frenchman found himself on the bench during the run-in because of a series of errors. Daniel Farke finally took the decision after Meslier cost the Whites a result against Swansea City. Karl Darlow stepped in goal for the rest of the season, and Leeds eventually won the Championship.

Rumours coming out of Elland Road suggested that this summer would be his last at the club.

There were reports at the start of the transfer window that the 25-year old was being offered to clubs across Europe. But so far, no deal has been made yet. Over a week ago, news from Turkey suggested that Fenerbahce were keen on a deal, but sources at Leeds United denied that.

The Whites still need a keeper ahead of next season, and they might have found one. According to Sky Sport in Italy, Leeds are monitoring the situation involving Torino keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. Napoli are interested in the keeper, but are not keen on triggering his £16.36million release clause.

The Serbia is a new name that has been thrown into the ring as Leeds pursue a new number one. He stands at an impressive 6ft8in and is a former Manchester United player.

 Is Milinkovic-Savic good?

The Serbian is one of the more underrate players in the league. Milinkovic-Savic has been a standout for Torino for the past few seasons. His height is impressive, but his stop stopping is even better.
