Leeds look set to seal two deals soon
Leeds United fans have been a bit frustrated this week after some transfer news. Two of their main targets this summer joined a rival club.
Sunderland stole a march on the Whites, and completed a deal for Habib Diarra. Leeds were in talks to sign the midfielder, but eventually they decided to not match the price. Graeme Bailey gave some inside information on the deal:

“Diarra was and is well-liked by Leeds, but they never came close to matching their demands of £30million,” Bailey said.
“I am told that Leeds considered coming back having held talks, but Sunderland was already going quickly and down the line with him.
Sunderland signed Diarra for £30million. And as if that was not enough, the Black Cats also swooped in to sign Leeds target Noah Sadiki.
Well, the club’s fans can cheer now. The Whites are closing in on completing two transfer deals in the next few days. According to Football365, a deal for Gabriel Gudmundsson is progressing. Even though the left back is currently in pre-season training with Lille, he is expected to join after both clubs finalize the details.
A move for Anton Stach is also ”moving in the right direction” according to Joe Donnohue. The Hoffenheim midfielder was identified as a target earlier this week. Leeds are moving fast to secure his signing after losing out on their two main midfielder targets.
Two solid additions
After missing out on Sadiki and Diarra, Stach is a very good alternative. The midfielder dominates the metrics for ball winning in the Bundesliga. He would compliment Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka in midfield.
Gabriel Gudmundsson is also a good shout at left back; he does not have the attacking upside of Junior Firpo, but he is definitely a better defensive option.
