Leeds United are in the market for a new striker as the Whites push to bring in a forward who could guarantee them a certain number of goals, which could help them stay in the Premier League next season.
Joel Piroe carried the burden of goalscoring in the Championship last season, and was the highest goalscorer in the league with 19 goals as he helped Leeds win the second tier and earn promotion to the Premier League after a two-year absence from the top flight of English football.
However, the Dutchman is unproven in the Premier League, and Leeds are aware that they need to bring in a proven performer who could bang in the goals needed to help the club survive in the top flight in their first season back.
Leeds have held talks with veteran Premier League strikers such as Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who are available on a free transfer, and have also been considering a bid for Norwich City forward Josh Sargent in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United since the start of the summer window, and he is believed to be firmly on their sights.
The Whites have been monitoring the forward closely, and are claimed to have made a verbal bid for the striker to Leece.
According to Italian outlet CalcioStyle, Leeds have offered to pay a fee just under the £22m mark to sign him from the Italian side, but it is well below Lecce’s expectations.
The Serie A side are open to selling the striker, but have told Leeds that they will have to offer somewhere around £35m before they can agree to sell him.
Krstovic is keen to leave Lecce, but Leeds are not a priority for him at the moment. The striker is waiting for a bigger club to make a move for him this summer.
Leeds need a striker soon
The Whites have already signed four players, with a particular emphasis on increasing their defensive options, and have an agreement in place to sign midfielder Sean Longstaff from Newcastle.
The Whites have also agreed on personal terms with Anton Stach, another midfielder, but signing a striker has continued to remain a huge priority.
Leeds do not want to go wrong on the striker they sign as it could make or break their season, but Lukas Nmecha’s free transfer arrival is the only attacking addition so far this summer.
Daniel Farke needs to bring in a striker soon, or else they could come under serious pressure early in the Premier League season.
