Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium is currently the smallest venue

According to reports, a Premier Leaguestadium is set to ‘double in size’ with work now confirmed to begin this season. Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium is currently the smallest venue in the English top flight, but it will undergo a major renovation to grow in capacity from 11,307 to 20,000.
Despite this projected increase, the stadium will only go up above the Gtech Community Stadium as the second smallest stadium, with Brentford’s home ground having a capacity of 17,250. Burnley’s Turf Moor is third on the list, with just under 22,000 seats.
That said, it will still represent a major change for the Cherries, with an 11,307 capacity considered small even for a League One side, let alone one that has been in the Premier League for nine of the last 11 seasons.
Major Changes Planned For Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium

Per BBC Sport, work on Dean Court, known as the Vitality Stadium for sponsorship purposes since 2015, will potentially begin between January and March 2026. Bournemouth have not been able to give an exact start date for the renovations to begin, but it should start before the end of the current season.
The Cherries are working with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council on the planning and consultation phase. If planning permission is granted, the English club are aiming to start the redevelopment by installing a new perimeter fence and turnstiles, a new ticket office and a ‘small-scale extension’ to the West Stand, as well as an internal refurbishment of the East and West Stands. They hope to have all that work completed by March 2026.
All going to plan, the focus will then be on demolishing and rebuilding a new South Stand – with a 7,000-seat grandstand – and infilling the four corners of the stadium by August 2026. The last phase of the redevelopment isn’t scheduled to start until the summer of 2027, when the club aim to expand the North and East Stands, to add a further 4,340 seats.
On top of this, Bournemouth will also add a new fan zone in the south-west corner of the ground. All told, the hope is to have redevelopment completed in full by the start of the 2027-28 season.
