Jack Grealish Admits Crystal Palace Man Deserved His MOTM Award Despite Everton Win
Having made the switch from Manchester City to Everton, Jack Grealish has finally refound the form that had clubs clamouring for him years back. However, following his most recent Player of the Match rendition, it was Grealish himself who took the time to praise a fellow countryman whose performance had him in awe.
Grealish spent four years on the blue side of Manchester, winning trophy after trophy. A cabinet that is now filled with awards and medals he could never have foreseen. It came at the cost of his on-pitch form. Arriving from Aston Villa with a reputation for creating, the attacker succumbed to the tactical ways of Pep Guardiola, and perhaps his own vices, and never reached the heights he did in the Midlands.

It was an impressive victory for David Moyes’ men this most recent gameweek, as they took down Crystal Palace 2-1, ending the Eagles’ jaw-dropping 19-game unbeaten streak. With Grealish coming to the rescue in the form of a 93rd-minute winner, the Englishman continued his career revival that has seen him play with freedom and a smile on his face.
However, for Oliver Glasner’s men, they will be disappointed that their run has ended, but proud to have achieved such an impressive feat. Following a summer which saw star midfielder Eberechi Ezedepart, Palace have defied the odds and gotten better, a fact that is testament to Glasner and the players.
One player who didn’t leave in the summer despite interest was Adam Wharton. The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with giants, such as Real Madrid, but has continued to put in impressive performances for the Eagles, something Grealish acknowledged in his post-match interview following a victory over Wharton’s side.
