Pereira Urges Patience as Mosquera Eyes Key Role at Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Vitor Pereira has stressed that defender Yerson Mosquera will be a “very important” player for the club this season, while urging the Colombian international to be patient with his recovery.

Mosquera suffered a serious knee injury last year, which sidelined him for a significant period. He has made a return this season, featuring in three Premier League matches, including two starts. Despite these appearances, Pereira has occasionally left him out of the squad as he carefully manages his comeback.

“Yerson is a talented player and will play a very important role for us,” Pereira said. “But he must be patient with himself. We don’t want him to rush his return and risk another injury.”

The Wolves boss highlighted the importance of balancing Mosquera’s game time with his long-term fitness. “We want him to gradually find his best level,” Pereira added. “His health and confidence are key for both him and the team.”

Mosquera’s return adds defensive depth to Wolves, who are navigating a demanding Premier League campaign. Fans will be hoping the 22-year-old can fully regain his form and make a lasting impact this season.

“Yerson is the kind of player who is physically strong, aggressive and fast,” Pereira said.

“Technically he is a player who can play with the ball without problems, pass inside, pass outside, long passes, he can do everything.
