Arsenal have been criticized on X, or rather Twitter, after today’s 2-1 loss away to Fulham, as they were very disappointed.
Bukayo Saka gave the Gunners an early lead as they tried to bounce back from a surprise home loss to West Ham earlier in the week, but they simply couldn’t handle it at Craven Cottage.
Although Arsenal had many wasted chances in the defeat against West Ham, they were simply not as good as Fulham today and cannot complain about the result as they were second best for most of the game.
It’s not entirely clear what went wrong for Mikel Arteta’s team, but a turnaround will now be needed to get back into the title race, with some of Arsenal’s respected journalists not holding back their assessment of this performance…
Arsenal saw a good chance to cement their status as one of the title favorites in the games against West Ham and Fulham, but two defeats have now given Liverpool and Manchester City a big boost, while surprise of the season Aston Villa may still feel they have a serious chance.
Arsenal’s next game is against Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup, before returning to the Premier League with a home game against Crystal Palace on January 20.
