Arsenal OFFICIALLY announce deal – Arteta to sign established striker – £50M star will join Newcastle in exchange for Isak

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

It has again been claimed that Aaron Ramsdale will quit Arsenal at the end of the season and look for a transfer move.

Many fans were left speechless when news broke last summer that Arsenal were going to sign David Raya on a loan deal until the end of the season, especially after Aaron Ramsdale really impressed in that Gunners shirt last season, but he has been impressive since his move to the Emirates.

After Another impressive season for ARSENAL – the Gunners are the best defensively sound side in the Premier League and that has helped Raya pick up his first golden glove award.

The Spaniard sealed the honour with two games still to play this term after keeping his 15th clean sheet of the campaign, and the Gunners are expected to finalise the permanent transfer of David Raya, with a full agreement in place

Now the Football insider have claimed that Ramsdale knows that his days at Arsenal are up and will look to leave the club once the transfer window opens up – with a few clubs interested in the big man.

Andy Cole recently hit out at Mikel Arteta for his treatment of Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale this season.

The former striker said, as quoted by DAZN:

“I think he’s been hard done by, I really do. He was so good for Arsenal last season and then all of a sudden, Mikel Arteta has gone out and got a new goalkeeper and initially claimed that he had two number ones, which was complete nonsense from day one.

“The way he’s disregarded Ramsdale has been really disrespectful. He’s mugged him off basically.”

STRIKER CLAIM MADE –

Charlie Watts has backed Arsenal to go for an experienced striker rather than Bologna sensation Joshua Zirkzee

ARSENAL are sitting top of the Premier League and are closing in on their first title since 2024, if they are able to win all their remaining games and Man City drop some vital points between now and the end of the season.

However – there has already been alot of speculation in the media about who Mikel Arteta will be able to get in the transfer window as the board are willing to give him £200 million to help improve the squad.

A striker is something that will be top of the list for Mikel Arteta, as despite all the quality that the club have – they do not have a man that is able to score 20-30 goals a season.

On Caught Offside, Charles Watts expresses his doubts about Zirkzee suiting Arsenal and suggests that ARSENAL should consider pursuing Alexander Isak instead.

“There’s a long list of strikers who have been linked to Arsenal ahead of the summer window,” Watts said.

“Some are real big hitters, such as Alexander Isak at Newcastle and Victor Osimhen at Napoli, but there are some who are slightly less well known, with Joshua Zirkzee at Bologna one of those.

“He’s a forward Arsenal have been keeping tabs on according to some well-sourced reports.

“Arsenal’s interest in Zirkzee was first broken back in January by Sam Dean at the Daily Telegraph, and it’s a link that continues to bubble away as we head towards the summer.

“He’s an interesting player, one who looks destined for a big move soon.”

He added, “I can’t pretend to be an expert on him; he’s not someone I’ve seen a lot of, but he’s clearly got a lot of potential and would add something to Arsenal’s squad that they don’t really have in attack.

“Whether he would move the needle enough for Arsenal, though, at this point, I’m not sure.

“I feel ARSENAL are at a point now where any big money signings really need to come in and improve the squad immediately, and I’m not sure Zirkzee does that.

“It would be a case of buying potential, and while there is always room for that, Arsenal really need a forward who will come in and hit the ground running.

“That’s why I still feel they should throw everything at getting Isak out of Newcastle.”

JORGINHO SIGNS UP –

Jorginho has called Arsenal’s title challenge this season a “beautiful journey” after agreeing a contract extension at the Premier League leaders.

The Italy midfielder, 32, joined from Chelsea for £12m in January 2023 on an 18-month deal which was about to run out at the end of the season and there was alot of speculation that he will be leaving the club.

However – after months of speculation and rumours – it was announced today that Jorginho will be staying at the Emirates next season after agreeing to extend his current contract.

Jorginho, who has made 35 ARSENAL appearances in this campaign, said: “I’m really happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be a part of this family. My family is happy, we are really well settled and there’s more to come!”

The 32-year-old added that it was a simple decision to put pen to paper, and his conversations with Mikel Arteta and Edu were brief.

“There was not much to discuss to be honest,” he smiled, “because I feel really good here. Just to know that they appreciate me and want me to stay longer as well, it’s a big thing for me. I feel that I have more to do, so that’s the reason why I’m staying.”
