Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly feeling ‘irritated’ with one of his players in recent times, signalling potential tensions within the Gunners’ camp despite their commendable season performance.

Arsenal signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid in 2020, with the Ghanaian midfielder widely regarded as the missing link in the Gunners’ midfield setup. However, injuries have plagued Partey’s time at Arsenal, limiting his appearances and affecting the team’s cohesion in midfield.
According to Football Transfers, Arteta is growing increasingly frustrated with Partey’s inconsistent availability, with the Ghana international starting just nine Premier League games in the just concluded season. His absence has been notably felt in the heart of Arsenal’s midfield, prompting Arteta’s exasperation.
Partey himself is reportedly ‘frustrated’ with his role at Arsenal, especially considering instances where he was overlooked in favour of other players like Jorginho. Turkish club Fenerbahce has reportedly expressed interest in signing Partey this summer, as he enters the final year of his contract at Arsenal.
Arsenal initially signed Partey for £45 million in 2020, making him one of the club’s highest earners with a weekly wage of £200,000. With his contract set to expire next summer, Arteta is allegedly open to Partey’s departure, albeit with hopes of recouping a significant portion of the initial investment.
Reports suggest that Arsenal would entertain offers around €29 million (£25 million) for Partey, but the price may decrease considering the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year. The Gunners are in the transfer market for new blood in midfield and it appears the club is willing to move on without the Ghana international next season.
