In what has been a very busy few days, the World Cup winner was also questioned on his future at the Monaco Grand Prix at the weekend under 24 hours on from explaining why he had not confirmed his new club. “I think that the best thing to do is to finish these goodbyes,” Mbappe admitted after the French Cup final win against Lyon when asked why he had not revealed his next club.

Despite Mbappe being a very busy man, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta got his moment with the 24-year-old which sparked some sensational talk of a potential last-minute change of heart. With that in mind, football.london has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours with Mbappe understandably dominating headlines.
Mbappe announcement imminent
As confirmed by the forward himself, Mbappe will make it known where he will be playing his football for the 2024/25 season very soon. Plenty of speculation has surrounded him over the last 12 months despite it always appearing obvious he would be joining Real Madrid.
Despite that, supporters of numerous Premier League clubs have been allowed to dream with Arsenal certainly in that category.
football.london says: “Given his admiration for Arsenal icon Arsene Wenger, Mbappe one day joining Arsenal cannot categorically be ruled out. The project being overseen by Arteta is also something that will likely intrigue every player in world football but right now Mbappe is destined for the Spanish capital.
“It has felt inevitable for some time and it is certainly no coincidence an announcement has not been made yet despite the season ending. That is because for Los Blancos, there is one final game to play and that is the Champions League final at Wembley against Borussia Dortmund.
“Following that, it will undoubtedly then be made official that Mbappe has joined Real Madrid as a free agent.”
Arteta meets Mbappe
Those final hopes of Mbappe joining Arsenal were given a seismic boost when the man himself spoke to Mikel Arteta. The interaction was hardly prolonged nor actually about a transfer but it was enough for supporters to get excited over the sheer thought of Mbappe playing his football at Emirates Stadium.
On Tuesday evening, the duo shared a moment on stage at the Globe Soccer Awards where Arteta picked up the best Premier League coach trophy.
football.london says: “Just the sheer sight of Arteta and Mbappe exchanging pleasantries was enough to send Arsenal fans on social media into a transfer frenzy.
“Given Arteta’s previous admission about the possibility of signing the soon-to-be former Paris Saint-Germain forward, optimism was present in north London, despite the financial concerns, that Arsenal could make a formal move for Mbappe.
Ultimately though, it was always a dream however there is nothing to suggest Mbappe won’t one day sign for Arsenal especially if Arteta can start winning trophies consistently.”
