Arsenal star may face a lifetime ban like Pogba for suspected doping after running tirelessly for 90 minutes while playing for his country at the EUROS
France international centre-back William Saliba (23) did not board the France team bus in the aftermath of Les Bleus‘ 1-1 draw against Poland at Dortmund, according to a report from L’Equipe. The Arsenal defender was designated for a post-game anti-doping control. It appears the testing took way longer than anticipated because the bus carrying his teammates left without him, roughly after 9pm CET.
The outlet understands that William Saliba, who played all three games for France in the group stage, could only leave Borussia Dortmund’s ground at 10:30pm CET. The Saint-Etienne youth product was accompanied by members of the France coaching staff.
L’Equipe add that this Tuesday night marked the arrival of the players’ families in their Euro 2024 base camp, at Bad Lippspringe. The players’ relatives are due to leave the Best Western Premier Park Hotel and Spa at Thursday, around noon.
On Wednesday, France will know their opponents for the RO16 stage of the Euros. Les Bleus will face, on Monday, the runners-up of Group E. The four teams in the Group – Romania, Belgium, Ukraine and Slovakia – are level on points.
