Reports in Spain claim Sunderland have made an offer for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia.

Sunderland have been splashing the cash in the last few days, including breaking their transfer record on Habib Diarra, and now they’ve been linked with a move for one of the emerging stars of the ongoing Club World Cup.

According to Fiches, Sunderland have ‘made the strongest bid’ for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia.

The report claims Sunderland have offered a loan with a mandatory purchase option should they stay up in the Premier League, with the option being €15m plus another €5m in addons.

Garcia has played in all three of Real Madrid’s Club World Cup games so far, scoring in two of the games and getting an assist in the other.

The 21-year-old has played 9 times in total for their first team, scoring three and getting two assists and has 30 goals in 73 games for Real Madrid Castilla.
