Derby County Complete the Signing of Veteran Defender Danny Batth ✅

Derby County have officially completed the signing of experienced centre-back Danny Batth on a one-year deal, adding leadership and defensive steel to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 33-year-old joins the Rams as a free agent, bringing with him a wealth of Football League experience after spells with clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, Sunderland, and most recently Norwich City. Known for his commanding presence, aerial dominance, and vocal leadership, Batth is seen as a valuable addition to Paul Warne’s side as they look to strengthen their defensive options in the Championship.

Speaking after putting pen to paper at Pride Park, Batth expressed his excitement at the move:

“Derby County is a huge club with a great fanbase and ambition to keep pushing forward. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping the team any way I can.”

Manager Paul Warne has made no secret of his desire to bring in experienced heads this summer, and Batth fits that profile perfectly. His arrival is expected to provide much-needed depth and competition at the heart of Derby’s backline as the club targets a strong start to the new campaign.

Batth becomes one of Derby’s first major signings of the summer, and his leadership qualities both on and off the pitch are expected to be instrumental in helping guide a squad that blends youth with experience.

The one-year deal includes the option for extension based on appearances and performance, with the club confident that Batth’s professionalism and defensive qualities will make a lasting impact at Pride Park.

With pre-season preparations now underway, Derby County fans will be encouraged by the club’s early activity in the transfer market—starting with a proven Championship warrior in Danny Batth. 👊
