Nottingham Forest were leading 2-0 against Swansea City and looked set to be in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup until they crumbled late on.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were much the better side in the first half, with summer signing Igor Jesus netting a brace.
Dilane Bakwa impressed on his full debut, as did Douglas Luiz, so there were certainly positives from the defeat.
However, ultimately, Nottingham Forest are now out of the competition, and it’s fair to say Postecoglou wasn’t pleased after the game.

Reporter Chris Wathan, writing for the BBC, explained that whilst he was waiting for the post-match press conference to begin, he could hear Postecoglou ripping into his players..
“We await the arrival of the managers in the press conference room that, as it happens, is right next to the away dressing room,” Wathan said.
“The walls aren’t too thick so it’s safe to say Postecoglou raised his voice when speaking to his players after that.”
It sounds as though the Forest boss gave his players the hairdryer treatment, so he’ll be hoping for a big reaction away at Burnley this weekend.
Ultimately, it was complacency that cost the Tricky Trees in South Wales rather than poor tactics from the new manager.
Nottingham Forest’s next three fixtures will be telling
The wait goes on for Postecoglou’s first win in charge of Nottingham Forest, however, there are three winnable games coming up.
The Tricky Trees face two newly-promoted clubs in Burnley and Sunderland before taking on Newcastle United at St James’ Park, which will be difficult, of course.
The narrative around Postecoglou could drastically change if he can win the next two and then go to Newcastle and get a point.
Six points from the next three is the minimum, otherwise, there will already start to be criticism aimed at the Australian head coach.
