Bournemouth defender Adam Smith has made a candid admission ahead of his side’s upcoming Premier League clash with Leeds United on Saturday.

While many would expect the experienced full-back to be wary of Leeds’ summer signings Ao Tanaka or Noah Okafor, Smith instead revealed that it’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has him feeling anxious.

“Facing him Saturday is not going to be an easy task for me. I’m really scared of him,” Smith confessed. “Calvert-Lewin is strong, fast, and ruthless in the air – he makes life very difficult for defenders.”

Smith acknowledged that containing the striker will be one of Bournemouth’s biggest challenges.

“You can try to mark him tightly, but he always finds space. Once he’s in the box, he needs just one chance. That’s what scares me – he doesn’t waste opportunities.”
