Valérien Ismaël slams Coventry City supporters: “The worst fans ever in Championship history”

Blackburn Rovers manager Valérien Ismaël has hit out at Coventry City and their supporters, labelling them “the worst fans ever in Championship history” following his side’s 2–0 victory at the Society Arena.

The French boss was furious after witnessing a Coventry fan shouting at a Wolves player, describing the behaviour as “bad, disrespectful, and unacceptable in football.”

“You can be passionate, but there are limits,” Ismaël said after the game. “What happened was shameful and doesn’t represent true football support. It was simply out of order.”

The incident overshadowed Blackburn’s impressive win, with goals securing a crucial three points. However, much of the post-match attention has focused on the Coventry crowd’s behaviour, which many fans online have also condemned.
