With growing discussions about the possible departure of Eddie Nketiah, Arsenal have set a high valuation of £50 million for the striker in an attempt to deter fans in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to 90 Min, Arsenal are insisting on a £50 million price for Nketiah, thus expressing a firm stance against his possible departure. Despite ongoing discussions about the striker’s January sale, Mikel Arteta believes Nketiah is an invaluable asset and a key figure in the squad.
Arsenal have been linked this season with a search for a prolific goalscorer capable of scoring more than 20 goals, which is expected to be crucial in their quest for the league title. Although names like Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen have emerged as potential scorers, the Gunners already have Gabriel Jesus and Nketiah in their ranks.
With Arteta preferring Jesus as a number 9, Nketiah has become a permanent replacement and, if necessary, a good understudy for the Brazilian. Arsenal’s decision to keep Nketiah in the summer and get rid of Folarin Balogun underlined the manager’s confidence in his abilities.
However, recent speculation suggests that Arsenal may be willing to sell Nketiah in January to facilitate the transfer of a new striker. Financial Fair Play (FFP) limits the Gunners’ ability to spend money unless they generate funds by selling some of their current players.
